The generation step is the easy part. Everything around it is still production.

The pitch for AI video is that it removes the crew, the location and the shoot day. That much is true, and it changes what a campaign costs. What it does not remove is the reason some films work and others are ignored — and that part is where the effort still goes.

Here is what actually happens between a brief and a delivered film.

The script decides almost everything

A generated shot with no idea behind it is still a bad advertisement. Before anything is rendered we agree one message, one audience and one action. If a script is trying to do three things, no amount of production value rescues it.

We fix the script first because that is where changes are free. Rewriting a line costs a conversation. Discovering the same problem after the film is cut costs the render, the edit and the schedule.

Storyboards, as stills you can approve

Next we produce frames — the actual look, lighting and pacing, approved as images before any motion exists. This is the step people are most tempted to skip and the one that saves the most time.

It also settles the question everyone asks, which is whether the result will look artificial. Ungoverned generation does look generic, because nothing is directing it. A deliberate shot list with a consistent lens, palette and grade does not. You will see that in the stills, before committing.

Generation, then real production work

Scenes are generated to the approved board, then treated like any other footage: graded for consistency, cut to the timing the script implies, and given sound design and music. Sound is doing more work than most clients expect — it is what makes a sequence feel like a film rather than a slideshow.

Real assets get composited in wherever the subject is physical. If you sell a product that exists, we use photography or footage of the actual product rather than asking a model to imagine it. This is almost always the right call for packaging, devices and anything with a logo on it.

Where AI genuinely changes the economics

Three places. Revisions, because a scene can be reworked the same afternoon instead of rebooking a shoot. Localisation, because several language versions come off one master rather than several shoots. And impossible shots — inside a machine, across a facility, at a scale no budget would cover.

The saving is real, but it lands in flexibility more than in the headline price. The value is that changing your mind stops being expensive.

What you receive

Masters in every aspect ratio your channels need — wide for broadcast and site, square and vertical for social — with subtitles, because most social viewing is silent. Two revision rounds are included, which is normally enough given the script and board were agreed first.

A sixty to ninety second piece typically takes three to four weeks from approved script. Most of that is not generation. It is the deciding, the boarding and the edit — the same things that always made the difference.

This is the process we follow on every Video Production project, script through masters.
